Willie Mae Mills, age 96, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. Mae was born on February 6, 1928, to William and Sophie Kubin Kelarek in Crosby, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Alvin, Texas, where she married, raised her children, and pursued her career as office manager in the field of accounting. She enjoyed her community, business and political club activities. She was very active in her church, making sure she instilled in her children the importance of keeping Godly principles in their lives. Keeping family traditions was always a very high priority for her.

She began her business career as a Texas Airline reservation clerk at Hobby Airport, then as an Alvin State Bank drive-in teller, then as office manager for the Texas Air National Guard Wing at Ellington Field and ended her career by retiring from BP/Amoco Chocolate Bayou. After retiring, she concentrated on her painting, taking lessons from well-known Alvinite artist, Feri LaNier. She also made special occasion cakes, including wedding cakes, for her relatives and friends. She even gave baking and cake decorating classes. She authored several cookbooks. She also loved her volunteer work with Meals- On- Wheels along with traveling here in the states and abroad. She especially enjoyed her trip to the Holy Lands.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, J. J. Little, Robert Dorsten and, Joseph Mills; her sons-in-law, Steve Townsend and Tad Dorsten, her sister Loraine Kincaide, her brothers-in-law, Jimmy Kincaide and Jerry Miller, her daughter-in-law Carol Little, her grandson Sean Mooney, and granddaughter Jessicia Little. She is survived by her sister Bertha Miller and brother Carl and his wife Ellie Schock, her daughter, Diana Little Townsend, her sons, Donnie and his wife, Linda Little and Dave and his wife, Donna Little. Grandchildren, Steve and Jessica Townsend, Chase Townsend, Laura and Rey Fonseca, Chris and Laura Little, Nathan and Jennifer Little and Matthew and Tina Little. She was blessed with nine great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Through marriage she gained six more children and grandchildren, Karen Dorsten, David and Denise Dorsten and Theresa and Charlie Waguespack. The family would like to thank the staff of Evening Star Personal Care Home for the care and compassion they gave our mother during her lengthy illness.

The pallbearers are Chris L. Little, Chris J. Little, Steve Townsend, Chase Townsend, Joseph Townsend, Jonathan Townsend, and Jack Townsend. Our thanks to N. A. Keithley for officiating the service. Burial at Mustang Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas, Alvin Methodist Church for the reception.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 17, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas with funeral services beginning at 10:00 AM.
