William "Bill" Albert Collins, age 85, passed away on May 22, 2026, in Friendswood, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on April 11, 1941, in Joliet, Illinois, to William Collins and Gertrude Musolf Collins. He graduated from Joliet Catholic High School and, in 1959, met his future wife, Jean Shank, at the Coal City Club. Bill and Jean were married on August 3, 1963, beginning a devoted marriage that lasted 62 years.

Together, they raised three sons: Bill, Mike, and Pat. Bill built a long and dedicated career with Amoco, serving as a Safety and Fire Supervisor. His work brought the family to Texas in 1977, where they built a life filled with family, friendship, and adventure.

After retiring in the early 1990s, Bill and Jean moved to Calliham, Texas, where they spent their fall and winter months fishing and hunting, while enjoying summers in Colorado and New Mexico. They formed many lasting friendships as state park hosts and enjoyed sharing fishing tips and favorite spots with others. Retirement did not slow Bill for long—he soon returned to work, which took him around the world, including assignments in Singapore, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.

Bill especially treasured time spent with his family. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and loved making memories with them in the hunting blind, on the lake, camping, and around the family table.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jean Collins; his brother Richard Collins (Donna); his sons Mike Collins and wife Karen of College Station, Bill Collins and wife Michelle of League City, and Pat Collins and wife Rachel of Friendswood; his grandchildren Cody Collins (Macy), Christian Collins (Andrea), Connor Collins (Erin), Erika Blount (John), Leslie Whitaker (Jonathan), Shelby Walton (Mark), Kristy McNicoll (Blake), Katie Collins (Ethan), and Jacob DeJongh (Desiree); and his great-grandchildren Katelyn, Hayden, Landon, Luke, Benjamin, Parker, Anthony, Crawford, Sophie, Sloane, Harper, and William, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He will be remembered for his deep love of family, his adventurous spirit, and the many stories shared beside a campfire, in a boat, or in a hunting blind. Bill's legacy lives on through the family he loved and the countless memories they will cherish forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Bill's name to League City EMS or Friendswood EMS, whose service and care are deeply appreciated.
