With deep sorrow and immense love, we announce the passing of Weldon Eugene Ray, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, family member and cherished friend, who left this world on August 25 at the age of 80. A longtime resident of Santa Fe, Texas, Weldon was known and loved by all for his gentle nature, quiet strength, and boundless kindness.

For the 37 years of their marriage, Weldon cherished and adored his wife. Their marriage was a true testament to enduring love and mutual devotion. He was a deeply caring father who always went above and beyond for his children, and later, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather who found pure joy in the presence of his family.

Weldon lived a simple, faith-filled life, guided by his love for God, his family, friends and his community. He was a devoted member of his local church, where he found fellowship and spiritual strength. Whether reading his Bible, singing hymns, or simply offering a kind word, his presence brought warmth and peace to those around him.

He cherished time spent with family and friends—especially when gathered around a game of dominoes or sharing snacks and stories in his home. He had a great sense of humor and a genuine love of laughter, always ready with a joke or a funny tale to brighten the room. He believed that love could be shown in the simplest of ways—like handing you your favorite treat or just sitting with you in quiet companionship. He also loved country and gospel music and could often be found singing along to his favorite songs, his voice a comforting presence to those who knew him.

Weldon lived a life of quiet grace, not marked by grand gestures, but by the everyday acts of love, kindness, and generosity that left an enduring mark on everyone he met. And though he is no longer with us, the love he gave so freely will live on in all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas on Wednesday, September 10th at 10:00 AM. In honor of his memory, the family invites you to share a snack, a laugh, or a kind word with someone—just as he would have done
