Warren Lynn Reed, age 60, passed away on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023, at his home in Friendswood, Texas. Warren was born January 7th 1963 at Galveston County Memorial Hospital in Texas City, Texas. He was raised in Alvin, Texas and attended Alvin High School and Alvin Community College where he received an A.A.S. degree in Criminology.

While attending ACC, Warren worked as a Campus Police Officer, and following graduation he worked in law enforcement from 1983 until 1988, serving as a Deputy Sheriff for Galveston County,  Security officer for Mainland Center Hospital, and as an Investigator for Haskins Law Firm.

In 1987, Warren changed careers, and became a petrochemical operator, working for Himont/Lyondell Basell. During his employment there, he commissioned and started up a polypropylene plant in Tampico, Mexico, and commissioned and started up two polypropylene and polyethylene plants in Bayport, Texas. Warren also served as a trainer for operations and assisted in developing a simulator to train operators and served on the emergency response team as well as a member of the hurricane crew and Incident Commander for the Fire Brigade.

In 2003, Warren moved to Praxair/Linde as Lead Tech. He commissioned and started up hydrogen plants in Texas City, Port Arthur, Parradeep, India and Toledo, Ohio. After leaving Praxair/Linde, Warren worked at Hawkins Leasing Services as a Crew Chief in the local oil fields.

Warren married Candy Williams in 1983, and they started their family in 1985 with the birth of their daughter Kristen, followed by a son, Dustin, in 1988. He was very active with his children when they were growing up, coaching Dustin's youth sports teams, and serving as a Clear Brook Celebrity Dad for Kristen's drill team events and Spring Shows, on stage as well as behind the scenes.

Warren's grandson, Charlie, was born in November 2011. Warren loved spending time with Charlie. They enjoyed playing video games, fishing, air shows, going to Disney World, riding bikes, going to water parks, and watching the Astros.

Warren is preceded in death by his son, Dustin Reed; his mother June Bettes, and stepfather, Wendell Bettes; and mother-in-law, Jessie Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Candy Reed; daughter Kristen Moore; grandson Charlie Moore; father Walter Reed; brothers Mike Reed and wife Monica, Scott Reed and his wife Phyllis, Joel Reed and his wife Melanie; stepsisters Jan Bettes; Connie Patrick; Karen Stillion; father-in-law Charles Williams, along with numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM Thursday, August 10th, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 6:00 PM.
