Virginia Calder age 78 of Alvin Texas passed away on 1/30/22 after a brief illness. She was born in Ganado, Texas on September 6 ^th , 1944. She is preceded in death by her two granddaughters Lana and Lindsay Simpson as well as her 3 sisters, 2 brothers and parents.

She had 3 bachelors and a master's degree in Education and Psychology from University of Houston. She taught school in Alvin, worked in school administration, and worked for the Boy Scouts of America. She loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards and bunco. She could shop forever and never met a stranger and would talk for hours to anyone. She was never on time If you wanted her on time, we had to tell her an hour ahead of when it was supposed to be. She was the Mahjong master and could spend hours playing her games. She never met a dessert or piece of chocolate she didn't like and loved her Olive Garden soup, salad and breadsticks. You would never catch her without her red or pink nails and toes.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years Richard Calder, as well as her 4 children. Her daughter Lauren and husband Steve of Houston, son Jack and wife April of Alvin, son Bill and wife Theresa, of Victoria and daughter Deanna of La Marque. As well as her sister Helen of Kemah, Texas as well as 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Which were the greatest joy in her life.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
