Vicki Lynn (McGrath) Basciano, 74, of Girard, Ohio passed away on April 6, 2026 at her home in Alvin, Texas.

Vicki was born November 09, 1951 in Jacksonville, Florida. Vicki came from a large family with 9 siblings. She graduated from Paxon High School in June, 1969. Vicki was adventurous and soon after graduation, embarked on a cross-country trip west to visit her sister Mary in Seattle Washington, exploring many sites along the way.

She returned home to Jacksonville and started working at the telephone company. To further fuel her adventurous spirit, she decided to take flying lessons at the local airstrip. That's where she met and subsequently fell in love with a young Navy Petty Officer named Thomas Basciano. They dated and were married in Jacksonville. Tom grew up in Niles, Ohio so he and Vicki decided to move back to Ohio and build a life together.

Vicki raised 3 children with Tom in Girard, Ohio- Thomas Jr, Cori, and Christopher. Vicki was always an avid swimmer and after her children were grown, took to being a lifeguard and swim instructor. She also learned about computers and gladly acted as IT Support for all her family and friends.

Her adult children all migrated to Houston. As proud Granny, she split time between Girard, Ohio and Alvin, Texas. The 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren will forever remember the time she spent teaching them to swim, cook, roller skate, garden and even drive. Which has resulted in their love of computers, adventure, meteorology and cooking. Her legacy also shines through curly hair, blue eyes, and sense of humor. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her mother Blanche McGrath, her brothers Louis and Joseph and sisters Patricia Bell, Phyllis Hill and Mary Greene.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Basciano, her children Thomas Basciano Jr and wife Jennifer, Cori Fisher and Christopher Basciano and wife Heather; sisters Cheryl Vines and husband Fred, Sandra Rigdon and husband Frank, and Cynthia Coleman, brother Daniel McGrath and wife Gail; 8 grandchildren Taylor Fisher, Justin Fisher, Thomas Basciano III, Brandon Fisher, Vincent Basciano, Cody Fisher, Alexi Basciano, Alaina Basciano and her two great-grandchildren Lily and Greyson.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 1:30 PM.
