Teressa passed from this life December 17, 2023, in Alvin, Texas.  She was born in Galveston, Texas, on June 18, 1927, and grew up in Arcadia, Texas.  She graduated as a co-valedictorian from Santa Fe High School and attended Sam Houston State Teachers College.  She taught first grade in Alta Loma Elementary School and then married Eugene Craig on May 26, 1946.  They were married 58 years.

Teressa was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Craig, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Beaver, and her three brothers, Cecil, Kenneth, and Gerald.  She is survived by her sisters Wanda Franks of Georgetown and Maedell Ercums and husband Karlis of Alvin; a son, Owen, and wife Wanda, of Angleton; daughter Kathryn Evans and husband Joel of Santa Fe; daughter Eileen Windham and husband John, also of Santa Fe; and daughter Peggie Williams and husband Jimmy of Houston.  Teressa also has nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Teressa embraced the Christian faith in her youth.  She was one of a number of young people who were involved in Christian Endeavor at the Arcadia Christian Church.  Her later years found her again especially involved with this congregation, but her faith was a constant throughout her life.  She had a calm, pleasant countenance and a strong devotion to the needs of her family, including her parents' generation, and particularly to her husband, as well as her children and grandchildren.

There will be a private graveside ceremony on December 19, 2023, at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.

The family is deeply appreciative of the loving and attentive care provided Teressa by the staff of Caring Country Cottage and hospice nurse Stephanie.
