Susan Kay Davis-O'Donnell, age 69 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 with family by her side.  Susan was born March 9, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, doodling/drawing, and her favorite way to relax was with a fishing pole in hand (and she did them all…. Shore fishing, off the dock fishing, fly fishing, ice fishing, shark fish, and deep sea fishing). She was a fierce ally, a loving friend, a mentor, and an absolute force to be reckoned with. Time spent with Susan was always full of laughter, deep conversations, and unforgettable shenanigans. She made it her personal mission to make sure you were seen and heard in all interactions she had with you.

In high school, Susan played several sports, was in theatre, raised animals, and played MANY different instruments in the band. She attended Johnson Bible College in Tennessee and then went on to have a successful radio career that spanned over 4 decades, including jobs in Rock, Talk Radio, News Radio, worked for the "Voice of Nebraska Huskers", Country, and finally in Christian Music. She made her mark in an industry that was once dominated by men and absolutely NO ONE connected with listeners the way Susan did. Her own ministry sought to encourage and support women through laughter and music. Some of her favorite achievements include: performing stand-up comedy at the Improv, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, scuba diving in Cozumel, traveling on missions to places such as Honduras, Africa, Slovakia, and Europe, mentoring many young women, and raising her daughters.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Bessie Davis, and her cousin who was like a sister, Lorraine Clapper (and husband Danny Clapper).

Susan is survived by her daughters Sarah Beth Ford (husband Orion), and Megan Ikerd (husband Patrick); brothers Bob Davis (wife Marty), and Jerry Davis (wife Joan); grandchildren Ryan, Michael, Sophia, Emalyn, Noah, and Josen, as well as several nieces and nephew, and 2 of the best friends she could have ever asked for,  Brenda Miller and Margie Schafer.

The Celebration of Life for Susan will be at New Hope Church-288 Campus on February 8, 2025 at 3pm.
