Sean Stahl, age 54, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his family. Sean was born January 29, 1972, in Fort Rucker, Alabama, and lived in Alvin for more than 35 years. He graduated from Fredericksburg High School in Fredericksburg, Texas, in 1990. While in high school, he captained the football team and played defensive tackle, earning the nickname "Headhunter" for his fierce, competitive style of play. During the summers, he worked alongside his father and grandfather at Gillespie Aero Repair at the Gillespie County Airport. After high school, Sean attended Universal Technical Institute, where he earned a degree in Diesel Technology. When he learned he would become a father, he completed the Police Academy at Alvin Community College. Over the years, he searched for the right professional fit, working for Stubbs, Carquest, Roark Auto Supply, Johnny Word Motorcycle, NAPA Auto Parts, and CarMax before finding his footing with his extended family at O'Reilly Auto Parts. He began there as a counter sales associate nearly 13 years ago and quickly rose through the company to become a Regional Sales Manager.

Sean always had a love for history and music—the heavier, the better. His passion for music led him to learn guitar and eventually form a band with his brother. He was also a gamer at heart and enjoyed Warhammer 40k, World of Warcraft, Dungeons & Dragons, and various game consoles. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, watching his children make their way through life, and seeing the world through his grandsons' eyes.

In his games, Sean often played a dwarf tank named Thry, a character who stood between danger and his travel companions and beat it down. That role carried into real life as well. He was the "tank" for his family and friends all the way to the end. Sean will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his fierce loyalty to the people he loved, and the unmistakable personality he brought into every room.

Sean was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Duane and Linda Jean Stahl; a baby brother; his maternal grandparents, Ralph Edwin and Jean Ethel Hazer; and his paternal grandparents, Leo Charles and Ada Margaret Stahl.

Sean is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Stahl; his sons, Sean Michael Stahl and wife, Kayla, and Alex Luna and husband, Bryce; his brother, Eric Stahl and wife, Stephanie; his bonus mom, Tina Stahl; three grandchildren, Owen Carter Stahl, Alden Reid Stahl, and Emmett Duane Stahl; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas, with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 PM.
