Sandra Delores Fulkerson, age 81 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 at Laurel Court Nursing Facility in Alvin.  Sandra was born January 2, 1943 in Lake Charles, Louisiana and was a longtime resident of Alvin. She was a member of South Park Baptist Church in Alvin and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Bessie Fussell.

Sandra met her husband, Hubert, at Northside Baptist Church in Odessa, TX.  Where they both attended with their parents.

As teenagers, they had a few dates before Hubert joined the military.  They corresponded through letters and fell in love.  Sandra and Hubert were married on Hubert's return at the same church where they first met.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Hubert Fulkerson; daughter, Rebecca Collins and husband Doug; son, Mitchell Fulkerson and wife Melanie; sisters, Donna Williams and Becky Barnwell; grandchildren, Amanda Collins, Rachel Collins, Olivia Fulkerson and Trevor Fulkerson; along with many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
