Ronnie Lloyd Nelson, age 56 of Lynn Haven, Florida passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Veterans Hospital in Houston, Texas after a lengthy battle with renal cancer. Ronnie was born on June 27, 1965 in Pensacola, Florida and was a part of the 1984 graduating class at Clear Creek High School. Ronnie and Michelle met in November of 1991 and were married on October 2, 1992. They were married just shy of 30 years. Ronnie bravely served his country as a part of the United States Army.

Ronnie and Michelle moved to Florida in April of 1995 and have since considered Florida their home. Ronnie worked as a correctional officer and a police officer until he retired in 2020. He spent his life in service to his country and his communities a firefighter, correctional office, and law enforcement officer. Over the course of his careers Ronnie received over 70 certifications, commendations, and medals. Ronnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City Beach (now Five Bridges Church).

In his free time, Ronnie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and riding his Harley. In addition, he worked charity benefits, raising money that was in benefit to MDA, the Shriners Children Hospital, and the Wounded Warriors. We often rode in escort for the Wounded Warriors visiting Panama City Beach and the Kevin Kight Memorial ride. Ronnie and Michelle were King and Queen of the Krewe of Massalina Mardi Gras in 2008 and 2009. He was a member of the American Legion Post 240 in Pensacola, Florida.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents Raymond Jobe Nelson and Fairy Anne Hicks.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Michelle Nelson; daughter Richele Cousins and husband Jonathan; sons Ronnie Nelson and wife Trishia, Micheal Nelson and wife Autumn, Garrett Nelson and wife Alysa, Bo Nelson and wife Savannah, Christopher Nelson; sister Charlotte Nelson Moragas; brothers Raymond Nelson Jr., and Michael Nelson; 13 grandchildren Gabriella, Hailey, Abagaile, Nathaniel, Zaine, Trystan, Aylen, Terrance, Leah, Waylon, Scarlett, Gabriel, and Delilah.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Five Bridges Church in Panama City Beach, located at 17495 Panama City Beach Pkwy, Panama City Beach, Fl 32413. A potluck-style luncheon will follow thew service at the church. Please feel free to bring a dish to share and join us as we celebrate Ronnie's life.
