Ricardo (Richard) Leal Jr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the age of 78. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War when he was in the U.S Air Force from 1965 to 1968. In 1977, he joined the US Army. Ricardo (Richard) was also a veteran of the Desert Storm war.

He retired from the US Army in 1990. He loved to watch the old western movies and he loved to listen to Tejano music, he loved to listen to Ramon Ayala. Ricardo (Richard) is preceded in death by his parents Ricardo Leal Sr. and Maria Flores Leal, granddaughter Samantha Romero, and his youngest brother, Abel Leal Sr.

He is survived by his two daughters, Tammie Leal of Texas City, Texas, and Tracy Leal-Williams and husband Kyle of Conroe, Texas. His grandchildren Rachel Romero, Alexandria, Rubio, Alicia, Rubio-Martinez, wife Lacie Martinez, Ramiro J., Romero Jr., Christian B. Ramirez, Stormi Rubio, Edward Romero and spouse Santana, and 15 greatgrandchildren. Also survived by his two sisters, Noelia Leal, Ruth Zapata and husband Joe Zapata Sr., and three brothers Eddie Leal and wife Cruz Leal, Benny Leal, and Moses Leal and wife Gloria Leal, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. A graveside will at 11:00 AM Friday, July 7, 2023, at Houston National Cemetery.
