Norman O'Neal White, age 88 of Alvin, Texas passed away Tuesday January 10, 2023 in Webster, Texas. O'Neal was born on December 17, 1934 in New Gulf, Texas to Hubie Carrol White and Mary Ann James White. He attended and graduated from Boling High School in 1952 where he lettered in basketball, football and track. He went on to play football at Wharton County Jr College. He met the love of his life, Billie Galloway and they married in 1956. They were married over 61 years before her passing. After serving in the National Guard, he worked for Texas Gulf Sulfur in New Gulf and later transferred to Beaumont. He was a resident of Alvin for 60 years. He worked for many years as an operator in the chemical industry. After retiring from Monsanto, he owned and operated a lawn maintenance business (Lawn Boys).

His love of family was only surpassed by his love for his Heavenly Father and his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a deacon for over 50 years and a member of Heights Baptist Church. He served in many different leadership positions at various churches throughout the years, but one of his favorite was teaching the 4 year old's Sunday School class. The kids gravitated to the blocks area because that was where he could be found.

O'Neal and Billie were the original homeowners on their street and had a special relationship with their neighbors. He loved sitting outside and visiting with his friends. He also enjoyed hunting at his deer lease with many dear friends and relatives for over 30 years. O'Neal was eager to join his group of friends at McDonald's as often as he could. He was always ready to help people and provided advice and tools for home repairs.

One of his many talents was wood carving. His home was filled with carvings and he loved to show them to friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his wife Billie, parents, Hubie and Mary Ann White, brother Hubie C. (Buddy) White and sister Thelma Coleen White Tucker (Tear).

O'Neal was a dedicated father to his children and the ultimate proud Papaw to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended as many of their events as possible and loved to brag about them. He also prayed for them EVERY day, by name.

O'Neal is survived by his daughters, Laurie Windler and spouse Cary of Magnolia, Texas, Mary Stilwell and spouse Darren of Alvin, son, Norman White and spouse Nancy of Alvin. 9 grandchildren, Tiffany and spouse Ryan, Taylor and spouse Caroline, Nikki and spouse Larry, David and spouse Jeffrey, Kenny, Caleb , Haley and spouse Mitchell, Jared, Blake. 9 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Payton, Harper, Sawyer, Bennett, Carli, Huck, Meischa, and Vincent, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 4-6pm on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
