Norma Teresa "Sugar" Sorensen, 88, died peacefully on November 17, 2022 at her daughter's home in Sanford, North Carolina. She was born in Galveston to Raymond Cox and Dolores (Roche) Cox on September 11, 1934. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alex Ray "Jr" Sorensen, daughter, Christine Cook, grandson Spc Michael Rodriguez (Iraq), great-grandson Elijah English, sister Thelma Ray "TR" Cox, and brother Raymond "Butch" Cox.

She is survived by her son, Alex Ray Sorensen Jr., and daughters Lorie (Eric) Southerland, Michelle Sorensen, five grandsons, four granddaughters, and twenty-one great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A grave side service will be held at Galveston Memorial Park, Monday November 28th at noon.
