Nona Beth Wissner, age 83, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, at her home. Nona was born October 16, 1938 in Houston, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Alvin. She taught 4th grade at Longfellow Elementary School in Alvin ISD for 33 years and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Alvin where she was baptized in 1946. Nona is preceded in death by her parents, O.T. and Henrietta Barker.

Nona is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Don Wissner; daughters Vicki Jacobs and husband Mike, Margo Wissner; additional daughter, MaryAnn Kissane; step son, Eric Wissner; sister, Judith Goodwin; grandchildren, Kyle Jacobs and wife Staci, Christina Jacobson and husband Scott, Preston Wissner; great grandchildren, Lucas Jacobs, Charlotte Jacobs and Max Jacobson; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Saturday, June 18, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Alvin with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3:00 PM.
