Nicolas Lozano, resident of Alvin, Texas for the past seven years, entered into eternal life Thursday, Jun 23rd 2022. Nicolas was born in Brownsville, Texas to Ramon and Maria Garcia on October 26th, 1930. At his father's passing when he was thirteen years old, he left school to support his widowed Mother. On May 12th, 1952 he married the love of his life, Maria Rafaela Melendez. He and his bride took on the responsibility of caring for his widowed mother. Nicolas decided to move north and they all moved to Western Nebraska where they began their family of four daughters and one son. They spent 47 years living in Nebraska. In 1999 Nicolas and his wife moved to Kansas to live with their oldest daughter. Upon the retirement of Rose their eldest they moved to Texas to be close to their daughter Connie and her family.

He loved being in Texas because he always had someone to take him to Home Depot. His son-in-law Steve was always willing to take him to get lumber, nuts and bolts and whatever else he was working on. He loved to tinker and build stuff and always so ready to show off his latest project.

Another of his favorite projects was to play practical jokes and for him there was no such thing as a stranger, it was an opportunity to gain a new friend. While he was seriously sick his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought a twinkle to his eye and smile that emanated his pride and joy. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, four daughters Rose Lozano, Concepcion Miranda (Steve), Carmen Placzek (Fred) and Mary Asmus (Mikel). One son Mike Lozano (Kristy), 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Scott Funeral Home with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held Monday, June 27, 2022, at Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Friendswood, Texas at 11:00 AM. An interment will be at Confederate Cemetery following the services.
