Neva Jo Maloy, age 91 of Missouri City, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at her residence. Neva was born April 9, 1933 in Goose Creek, Texas and was a longtime resident of the Missouri City area and former member of First Baptist Church in Rosharon. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown where she was a member of the Lee Brigadiers. Neva worked as a bank teller supervisor for many years for Nations Bank and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Neva is preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Ethel Young; sister, Jeanette McCabe; daughter in law, Laura Simpson; step daughter, Michelle Prior.

Neva is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Maloy; daughters, Sandra Bounds and husband Ross, Laura Fisher and husband Dana; son, Gary Simpson; step son, Jason Maloy and wife Nicole; grandchildren, Lisa Wilchek and husband Sean, Christi Boren, Daniel Terry and Joshua Terry; step grandchildren, Shon Maloy and Samantha Riddle; numerous great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Neva enjoyed working with needlepoint, crochet, and watching the various wildlife in our area. She made 60+ children's sweaters for a Christian organization, and crosses for church outreach. She wore fancy hats to church services as women used to do. Neva is a cousin of Gene Roddenberry, creator of the TV show Star-Trek. And has a direct line ancestor who fought in the Revolutionary War.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers are Dana Fisher, Ross Bounds, Jason Maloy, Shon Maloy, Sid Dull and Wayne Hollis. A private interment will be held at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin.
