Obituary

Nancy Lee (Wheeler) Worden, age 72, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026. Nancy was born February 14, 1954, in Galveston, Texas.

Nancy had a special love for the beach and being near the water. Whether it was spending a day at the beach or simply sitting in the sunshine, enjoying the warmth and peacefulness of the water, those were moments that brought her happiness.

Above all, Nancy treasured her family. She cherished every moment she could spend with the loves of her life, her son Mark and daughter Lee. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to Mikayla and Caleb, bonus grandmother to Hailey, Carlie, Morgan, Allyssa, Lilly, Chris, Kaela, Cassidy, and Gloryannah, and great-grandmother to Elijah, Alanna, and Mila. Each of them held a very special place in her heart, and she took great joy in embracing her family and watching them grow.

Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Nancy knew she had a kind, loving, and giving heart. She was always willing to offer kindness to those around her, and her warmth touched the lives of so many. If you were ever having a difficult day, Nancy had a way of making it a little brighter. Her beautiful smile was like a ray of sunshine, bringing comfort, happiness, and a smile to the faces of those around her.

Nancy will be remembered not only for the love she gave so freely, but also for the joy, warmth, and beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Joyce Wheeler, and her sister, Beverly Reese.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lee Anderson and husband Scott; son, Mark Gibson and wife Priscilla; grandchildren, Mikayla Gibson and Caleb Worthey; bonus grandchildren, Hailey, Carlie, Morgan, Allyssa, Lilly, Chris, Kaela, Cassidy, and Gloryannah; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Alanna, and Mila; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 4:00 PM.
