Mona Carol Carter, age 74 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at HCA Clear Lake Hospital.  Mona was born June 20, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee and was a longtime resident of Alvin.  She graduated from Memphis State University with her bachelor's degree, University of Houston-Clear Lake with her master's degree and taught school in Alvin ISD for 30 years. Mona was a member of Friends Community Church in Angleton and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Esther Dawson and Patricia Peel; brother, Roy Crook.

Mona is survived by her daughters, Carol Diane Tacquard, Amy Barnett and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Victoria Madison Tacquard, Katherine Mabel Tacquard, George Benjamin Tacquard and Owen Carter Barnett; along with numerous extended family and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 PM.
