Michael Lopez, age 56 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024.  Michael was born on September 11, 1967 in Galveston, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Alvin.  He was associated with Alvin Softball for many years and the Tri-County Umpires Assoc.   He is preceded in death by his father, Alvino Lopez, Jr.

Even in death Michael was still thinking of others being an organ donor.  John 15:13 No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.

Michael was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was not rich but he was the most generous person you would ever meet.

Michael is survived by his wife, Summer Lopez, mother, Juanita Robisheaux, daughters, Lauren Lopez and husband Chris Schmidt, Katelyn Lopez, Megan Burgaleta, son, Jaden Lopez, brother, Joseph Lopez and wife April, 3 grandchildren, Delilah Lopez, Stella Schmidt, Blair Schmidt, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will truly be missed.

He always had a smile and made the fields so much brighter. He played match maker to many that are still together 40 years plus.  He was known for his Michaelisms, for example: waaaaazupppp, orale', you member, mira que nice, Glory to God

He loved his 70's rock bands, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Lynyard Skynyrd, Metallica, Santana, VanHalen, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM with Memorial Services beginning at 3:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas.
