Michael "Moose" Perez Jr., age 81 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 4:10pm at his home. Michael was born on March 20, 1942, in Alvin, Texas. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Mercedes and Michael Perez Sr.; brothers Fredrick "Freddie" Perez and David "Gene" Perez. Michael is survived by his wife, MaryAlice Perez (Arebalo) of 60 years. They wed on April 20, 1963; Children: Michael A. Perez, Julia Haskins, Dhalia "Dedi" Wood and husband Gary of Little Elm, TX; and Steve Perez. Grandchildren: Timothy M. Condon II of Little Elm, TX, Pablo A. Castro, Jonathan S. Condon and wife Kayla of Anna, TX, Michael Castro, Tyler Perez, Travis Perez, Christian Perez and Jessen Perez. Great-granddaughters: Kynlee Condon and Marlee Kate Condon both of Anna, TX.

Michael was a lifelong member of the community. Michael enjoyed smoking briskets on his custom made smoker, custom vehicles, raising pigs and cattle. He enjoyed being part of the 4H group with his grandchildren. Michael enjoyed spending time sitting under his favorite oak and pecan trees enjoying the shade and overlooking his property while relaxing and spending time with his family while on his swing or favorite rocking chair. Michael coached the Alvin Packers Little League Football team in the 1970's. He enjoyed traveling to Goliad with his family. He was a huge fan of the Houston Oilers and the Texans. He loved pecans so much he planted 64 pecan trees. He said he wanted a grandchild for every surviving pecan tree. Thankfully, 8 pecan trees survived at that time, and he has 8 grandchildren. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of football, cars, agriculture, and farming to his children and grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor, loved telling jokes and stories about his childhood with his brothers and friends. Michael was an extremely proud Grandpa to his grandsons and his 2 great granddaughters. Michael will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We were all blessed to have had him as our friend, father, and Grandpa (G'Pa).

A visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM, with a rosary beginning at 10:15 AM at St. John Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at St. John Catholic Church. Interment will be at Oak Park Cemetery following the services.
