Michael George Cummings, age 75 of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Michael was born November 5, 1948, in Bedford, Indiana, and has been a resident of the Alvin community since 2006. Michael loved spending time with family and friends, grilling, skiing, floating down the Guadalupe River, music, watching the sunrise on the beach, playing Monopoly and Yahtzee, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, helping people, reading his Bible and having extensive conversations about the Lord. He is deeply loved and greatly missed. He was always adventurous and taught by example to enjoy and make the best of each day. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Fern Cummings; daughter Shannon Cummings.

Michael is survived by his wife Shirley Cummings; daughters Brittany Cummings, Melanie Blount and husband Ron, Lydia Sebesta and husband Josh, Christina Tweedle and husband Danny, and Carmen Cummings; sons Jeremy Howells and wife Jill, Scott Cummings and wife Emma, Sean Cummings and wife Dorothy; his brother Richard Cummings and extensive family; grandchildren Ava, Gunner, Kaylee, Riley, Elijah, Gabriel, Damian, Kori, Jeremy Jr., Daymon, Ashton, Od, Danzig, Shelby, Kobe, Tyler, Eden, and Katelyn; and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Heights Baptist Church in Alvin, Texas.
