Melvin Strawn, Sr., age 82 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family.  Melvin was born on June 6, 1942 in Alvin, Texas.  He retired from HL&P, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Leslie Strawn, daughter, Michelle Thomas.

Melvin is survived by his son, Melvin Strawn, Jr., and wife Tiffany, sisters, Murl Kelso, Ivanell Matheny, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other relatives and friends, best friend Larry Drabek.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas with military honors to follow.
