Maudie Belle (Wheatley) Bolfing, age 90 of Alvin, Texas passed away peacefully Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Laurel Court Nursing Facility in Alvin. Maudie was born October 8, 1935 in Milford, Texas and had been a resident of Alvin since 1970.

Maudie was a woman defined by her faith and unwavering commitment to her family. As a loving wife to Bill Bolfing for 63 years, and a nurturing mother to Steven Lee and Sharon Jo, Maudie created her family, creating a home anchored in love and devotion. She and Bill shared a deep, union, where her commitment to her family was all-encompassing, setting a beautiful example for all who knew her.

She was an active member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin. Maudie was a woman of deep and abiding faith whose life was anchored in her love for Jesus, whether it was from her Baptist roots; or actively living out her Catholic faith.

She loved swimming and scuba diving and was a certified American Red Cross swim instructor. She taught swimming for many years to all ages and had a special love teaching swimming to the mentally challenged. She treated everyone with great respect.

Maudie is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bill Bolfing; her parents Clarence and Lota Pearl Wheatley; sister Eleanor Wheatley; brothers, C.W. Wheatley, O. E. Wheatley, Billy Joe Wheatley, Mac Wheatley, Bob Wheatley, Don Wheatley and Weldon Wheatley.

Maudie is survived by her daughter, Sr. Sharon Jo Bolfing O.S.F.; son, Steven Bolfing and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Brandon Lee Bolfing (wife Sky), Christopher Bryan Bolfing, and Kelsey Elizabeth Bolfing; great-grandchildren, Lily Bolfing, Kaylee Bolfing, and Zachary Garza; sister-in-law, Billie Sue Wheatley and many other greatly loved nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held April 20, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with a rosary starting at 7:00 P.M. at Scott Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin. Interment will be held immediately after services at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin.
