It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Bell Smart age 64 on October 20, 2023 of Rosharon Texas. Surrounded by her loving family, Mary peacefully left this world to find eternal rest.

Born on September 12, 1959 in Liberty Texas, Mary lived a life filled with love, devotion, and joy. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a profound impact on all who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Helen Rodgers, sister Sharlene Marzan and brother Charlie Marzan.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, James Smart, who stood by her side throughout their journey together. Their love was a shining example of commitment and unwavering support.

Mary's legacy continues through her children, daughters, Jennifer Hardy and her husband Richard, Tausha Rhodes and husband Billy, Kirby Vanderslice and husband Mark, sons, Terry Smart and girlfriend Courtney, Stephen Smart and wife Marissa, and Caleb Hutchins, whose lives were touched by her guidance and affection.

She leaves behind sisters Glenda Degagne, and Pam Standefer along with 24 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild who were a constant source of joy and pride for her.

In addition to her immediate family, Mary leaves behind a vast amount of relatives and friends who will forever treasure the moments shared together.

As we bid farewell to Mary, let us remember her as the kind, loving, and remarkable person she was. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A memorial service will be held to honor Mary's life and offer an opportunity for family and friends to celebrate her memory on November 5, 2023 from 12:30pm-1:30pm with funeral services beginning at 1:30pm at Scott Funeral home in Alvin, Texas
