Our precious mother, Mary Leah Miller, passed away peacefully at her home in Alvin on Saturday, January 21, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson's. She was surrounded with love and by her children. At the age of 91, she had truly lived a long and full life.

Mary Leah was a lifetime resident of Alvin, having been born in her parent's home on September 24, 1931. She was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin, where she was a member of the St. John's Altar Society. She was a beautiful lady who was crowned queen at several competitions in her high school years.

Mary Leah met the love of her life, Billy Ray Miller, in junior high school. They were married for 49 years and had a loving and wonderful marriage until his death. They loved each other so very much and were true role models for other married couples. As a couple, they enjoyed spending time together with their children and grandchildren, working in their beautiful flower beds, planning their next party, and dinner out with family and friends.

As a loving mother of three children, Mary Leah was totally devoted to her family and caring for her children. You could see the love for her children in the way that she cared for her oldest son, Michael, until his death at the age of 32. She was always there to support and encourage her children in their church, school and 4-H activities. Everyone loved going to "Granny's" house because they knew that they would be met with a beautiful smile, hugs and a kiss and the aroma of a freshly baked pie, cake or cookies. She was a fabulous cook and seamstress.

Mary Leah will be welcomed into her heavenly home by her husband, Billy Ray Miller; son, Michael Miller; parents, George and Flora Stanton; sister, Doris Perryman; and brother, Warren Stanton.

Left to cherish so many wonderful memories of such a beautiful mother and grandmother are her son, Patrick Miller; daughter, Marcie Miglicco and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Austin Miller, Alyssa Schuepbach and husband John, Katherine (Katie) Tyler and husband Dustin, Cassidy Miller and Haley Miller; great grandchildren, John Patrick Schuepbach, Tyce Tyler, Lennon Tyler, and Maren Tyler; step grandchildren, Jason Miglicco and wife Cheryl, Stacey Miglicco Sullivan; step great grandchildren Leia Sullivan and Lyndin Sullivan; sisters, Flora Ann Triplett, Georgia Nagle, Martha Franzen and husband Terrell; sister in law, Jeannette Stanton; along with numerous other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
