Mary Gutierrez 92 of Alvin, Texas passed away on Thursday October 21st 2021, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Mary was a lifetime resident of Alvin, Texas and was a member of Esmirna Church now called Emmanuel Worship Center. For many years she gladly served wherever she was needed, Mainly in the kitchen with friends helping with church fellowships. She also loved being a greeter where she welcomed everyone with a smile. She was always known for her welcoming smile.  She also worked for JSC and ACC for several years where she retired at the age of 65. She took great joy in working with arts and crafts, floral arrangements, crocheting, and embroidering. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially grandkids. She loved taking pictures and acting silly with them. Even though she was diagnosed with dementia she still had a smile on her face everyday and enjoyed life!

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Gutierrez Sr.; son, Victor Becerra Jr.; father, Macedenio Jimenez; mother, Santos Alvarado; brothers, Pete Jimenez and Paul Jimenez.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Rose Mary Valdez and husband Freddie, Vickie Barajas and husband Daniel, Hardy Becerra, Alicia Fernandez, Vera Guess, Norma Hatman, Sylvia Sierra and husband Hal; sisters Esther Almanza, Martha Crowden, Sarah Sanchez, Lydia Ochoa and brother John Jimenez; Marta Argueta friend and caretaker of 13 years; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Pallbearers: Frankie Fernandez, Danny Barajas, Joseph Gentry, Aiden Guess, Zachary Valdez and Cameron Guess

Honorary Pallbearers: Freddie Valdez, Daniel Barajas and Hal Sierra.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Emmanuel Worship Center with a service beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 29, 2021 at Emmanuel Worship Center with Interment to follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin.
