Mary Elizabeth Carmeans-Vickers, age 91 of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at her son's home with her family by her side.  Mary was born July 14, 1934 in Sidon, Mississippi and had been a resident of Alvin since 1978. She was a longtime employee of Alvin State Bank/Union Planters Bank in Alvin and was a devoted member Heights Baptist Church in Alvin. Mary loved her church as well as spending time in her garden. She loved to sew and would become a master seamstress over the years. Her true passions were her church, sewing and taking care of her garden. Mary is preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Carmeans; second husband, Sam Vickers; daughter, Pamela Yarbrough; parents, Peyton and Venise Peeples; sister, Ethel Dean Peeples; brothers, Peyton Peeples and James Peeples.

Mary is survived by her sons, Donald Carmeans and wife Robin, Terry Carmeans Sr. and wife Kathy, Keven Carmeans; brother, LeRoy Peeples and wife Sandra; son in law, Tim Yarbrough; grandchildren, Chase Carmeans and wife Jackie, Chad Carmeans and wife Marci, Terry Carmeans Jr. and wife Tanya, Faith Burnett and husband Sean, David Mullins and wife Danielle, Nicole Bridjohan and husband John, Johnathan Carmeans and Tyler Carmeans; numerous great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.

In lieu flowers memorials can be made in Mary's honor to Heights Baptist Church in Alvin or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Scott Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
