Maria Del Carmen Loredo was born on September 1, 1964 in Houston, Texas. On February 16, 2022 she peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side. Mary was an Alvin High School graduate (Class of 1982). She was employed with A.I.S.D. and was a lifelong resident of Alvin, Texas. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Lopez and Esther Rodriguez Lopez. She is survived by her loving husband Michael Baumann, son Robert Anthony Loredo, daughters Joanna Canales (David) and Melissa Brown (Joel). Her nine grandchildren: Jazmine, Isabella, Adrian, Marcus, Hailey, A.J., David Jr., Micah, and Konrad. Sisters, Louise Hawkins (Charles), Betty Hernandez (Juan). Brother, Louis Garza, III. (Karmen). And honorary son, Jason Hamrick.

After a brief, but courageous battle with liver cancer, Mary has succumbed and is now at peace. And though she is no longer here in body, her jubilant spirit remains, as does the lasting memories she gave us, providing joy and comfort to all who knew her. Mary was a truly remarkable woman who selflessly gave of herself to ensure her family's needs were met. Mary was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, sister and aunt. As the saying goes, the proverbial hub of the family wheel who kept everyone connected.

Mary loved life and relished each and every day. She especially loved cooking for the children at Passmore Elementary, and expressed sorrow at being unable to prepare their Thanksgiving lunch as she had for many years, due to her ailment. Mary like to travel and experience new thrills, such as skydiving and exploring the ancient ruins of Peru, but mostly she enjoyed just being in the company of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Funeral services were held on February 22, 2022 at Scotts Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas. Followed with a Mass service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin. Her body was laid to rest at the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
