Margaret Joan Bryant Ashley passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023 at age 90. She is survived by her husband, Curtis Eugene (Gene) Ashley, her sons Charles "Chuck" Robert Ashley and Steve "Steve" Eugene Ashley, her sister Hester Smith, eight grandchildren, Christopher, Killian, Nolan, Samuel, Trevor, Nicholas, Rebecca, Anthony, four great-grandchildren, Jakob, Rowan, Christopher, Cooper. She is preceded by her parents Robert and Irene Bryant.

Married in 1960, Gene and Joan moved to Lake Jackson where they raised their family and were active in their community. They retired to Louisiana.

Joan was a devoted wife and mother, and she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a passionate gardener, cook and baker, and was famous for her award-winning pies and desserts. Additionally, she volunteered her time throughout her life, and was an active member of her church.

Joan was a kind, caring, and selfless person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She made a difference in the lives of all the people around her, and her legacy will live on.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00AM, followed by funeral at 12:00PM at Scott Funeral Home, 1421 E Hwy 6, Alvin, TX.
