Marcus Dean Russell, age 69 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026.  Marcus was born August 5, 1956 in Columbia, Mississippi, and was a member of the Alvin Masonic Lodge and a member of the Alvin community for over 50 years. Marcus enjoyed being outside, fishing, camping, grilling, time spent with the grandkids, listening to his old records, and blaring Cajun music on Saturday mornings. Marcus is preceded in death by his father Jerry Russell; sisters Vanessa Weeden and Tammy Anderson.

Marcus is survived by his wife Donna Russell; mother Nancy Kathryn Russell; daughters Michelle Carter and husband Josh, Cherlynn Besherse and husband Chris; son Robby Russell and wife Jennene; sister Tersa Walters and husband Kenny; brother Don Russell and wife Kelly; grandchildren Briley, Evelynn, Rhiannon, Noah, Kori, Nathaniel, and Jaxson, as well as numerous other extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Eric Seiler, Brennan Coaliron, Robby Russell, Ryan Newton, Chris Besherse, and Briley Besherse.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A funeral service e will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 10, 2026, at Heights Baptist Church. Interment to be held at Confederate Cemetery following the funeral services.
