Mary Magdalena "Maggie" Leal, age 46 of Alvin, Texas, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. Maggie was born December 23, 1978, in Webster, Texas and had been a lifelong resident of Alvin. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend and will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Maggie was welcomed into heaven by her twin sister, Maria Anna; niece, Kaitlyn Brown; grandparents, Lupe Cruz Garcia and Robert Serrato Sr., Maria and Ricardo Leal; cousin Jade Hernandez; and uncles, Ruben Serrato Sr, Ronnie Serrato, Able Leal and Richard Leal.

Maggie is survived by her parents, Moses and Gloria Leal; sisters, Melanie Deemer and husband Ruch, Amber Michelle Leal; brother, Moises Leal; nieces and nephews, Jacob Brown, Kyleigh Leal, Allyson Leal, Ronin Deemer, Maya Deemer, Aria Deemer, Jilliayn Brown, Joselynne Roberts, and Bianca Roberts; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Maggie graduated from Alvin High School in 1997. She participated in Special Olympics and loved reading and writing. She was always working on her papers.

Maggie watched and loved any and all sports. Her favorite teams were the Texas Longhorns, Chicago Bulls, and Houston Texans. She also loved to watch WWE wrestling. Her favorite video games were the latest versions of the NBA and Madden series. They were always the top two requests on her Christmas list. She especially loved Christmas and kept her tree up year-round.

She loved playing Mahjong and Solitaire on her I-pad while jamming out to her favorite tunes. Her playlist included anything Tejano, Country, and Elvis Presley. You might walk in on her wearing her favorite black cowboy hat, strumming her guitar, and dancing to her favorite Tejano songs on any given day.

Maggie was a true Fashionista! She always matched from head to toe. Sporting her driving sunglasses when out and about being chauffeured by her partner in crime, her Mom Gloria to her medical appointments or to make a visit for a shopping spree at her favorite Dollar Tree! She looked like a movie star as she would roll down her window to tell you Hi.

We will miss her pointing at her cheek as soon as you walked in the door so you could give her a kiss, her laughter, and her smile that brightened the entire room.

We are comforted in knowing that she is now dancing, singing, and laughing in heaven with all of the family and friends who greeted her upon arrival.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Luis Fayad, NP Brittany Weeks, and the entire Lymphoma Department at MD Anderson who cared for Maggie during her treatments. They would also like to recognize Dr. Abdellatif, his nephrology team at CLS Health, as well as the nephrology department at MD Anderson who all worked so tirelessly to keep Maggie at her best.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home.
