Lucy Jane Turner, age 73 of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at her home.

Lucy was born January 10, 1953, in New York to Stefan and Teresa Janus. She spent her early life in Brentwood, Long Island, where she met the absolute love of her life, Tom. Together, they shared 60 wonderful years of unwavering dedication to one another, including 49 beautiful years of marriage. In 1979, they made their home in Alvin, Texas, raising two wonderful children – Tommy and Dena – and where Lucy spent many years working as a dedicated Employee Benefits Manager in Human Resources for Foley's department store.

Lucy was a rare and treasured presence in the lives of those she loved. Many were grateful to have her not because she rescued them from every storm, but because she fiercely refused to leave their side while they were in one. Her loyalty was unmatched, a fact mirrored in her lifelong relationships with multiple friends who remained close for over 50 years.

Her happiest moments, however, were born after retirement. Lucy spent every waking moment she could in Louisiana with her daughter, Dena, and the three most valuable things in her world: her grandchildren, Jack, Emma, and Will. She attended every family gathering, sporting event, and school activity she could possibly get to. When she couldn't physically be there, she was reliably found on FaceTime, making sure she never missed a single moment.

Lucy's love was practical, warm, and well-fed. She took immense joy in planning meals and ensuring everyone always had plenty to eat. Her birthday lunches with her nieces were always a treasured highlight. She enjoyed browsing through Costco, telling Tom it was her weekly exercise. She was truly a Mom, Aunt, Sister, Friend, and Grandma to so many, well beyond her immediate family.

Lucy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Stefan and Teresa Janus.

Her extraordinary legacy of love and presence will be carried forward by her husband, Thomas "Tom" Turner; her son, Thomas Turner and her daughter, Dena Fogleman and husband Troy. She leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Jack, Emma, and William Fogleman, as well as her loving sisters, Halina Janus, Regina Harms, and Donna Norton and husband Steve, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a lifetime of devoted friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Scott Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 12:00 PM with a vigil service following the rosary. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery.
