Louise M Wood Johnson, age 95, of Alvin, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday May 1st 2026. She was born on April 14th, 1931 to Hubert and Annie Wood. Louise graduated from Alvin High School and remained deeply rooted in the community she loved. Louise was married to her high school sweet heart and the love of her life, Howard Johnson, for 70 years. Together they built a strong and loving family that remained the center of her life. As a devoted member of Westside Church of Christ, her faith in the Lord and Savior was steadfast and strong. As a lifelong resident of Alvin, she was widely regarded as a town historian, known for her deep knowledge of local history and her passion for preserving the stories of those around her. She worked as a telephone operator, a sales associate at Foley's, helped deliver meals on wheels and was a member of the Alvin Museum Society. Louise loved camping, road trips, the beach, visiting new places, bicycling on her crazy bike, Joe's BBQ's, Dairyland, Chic-fil-a, and Clear Springs. In her downtime, she enjoyed relaxing in her recliner, sipping on Coca Cola, working on a crossword puzzle while indulging in Blue Bell ice cream. She had a unique sense of humor, always delivering clever comebacks with sharp wit. She was an avid seamstress who enjoyed sewing and quilting, often creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished for generations. She loved tending to her flowers and took great pride in caring for her yard, where she spent many peaceful hours. She will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and deep connection to her community. Her legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched throughout her years.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents Hubert and Annie Wood, her brothers Hubert, Kenneth and Allan Wood, her grandson Charlie Loffler, husband Howard, daughter Patti Loffler, and granddaughter Brandy Grubbs.

Louise is survived by her children, Terry Johnson and Judy Womack and husband Barry, grandchildren Wendy Aparicio, Wesley Womack and wife Kirsten, Grace Ausmus and husband Jonathan, great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Dylan, Sadie, Haley, Chloe, Miles, Weston, Bowen, Finley, and Lincoln, and two great-great-grandchildren Kinsley and Kohen, along with many other relatives and friends all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alvin Museum Society or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Westside Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m., with interment afterward at the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
