Laurie Gibson, age 68 of Galveston, Texas, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025 surrounded by her family. Laurie was born on March 18, 1957 in Bossier City, Louisiana and worked for many years as a registered nurse. She loved to travel the world, always seeking new adventures and stories to share. Her sharp wit and unique sense of humor made her the heart of every gathering, and she was known as "mom" to more than just her own children. Laurie's warmth and generosity touched countless lives, and her absence leaves a deep void in our hearts. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, Sara Blount and Charles Gibson.

Laurie is survived by her daughters, Sara Collier, Beth Collier, sister, Leigh Cashwell and husband Grady, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas. An interment will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
