Laura Lynn Cordova, age 68 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026.  Laura was born February 9, 1958, in Alvin, Texas, and was a lifetime member of the Alvin community. She attended Alvin High School and dedicated many years to serving her community through her work at a local plant nursery and later with Alvin ISD. Laura took great pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout the years.

A devoted Christian, Laura gave her life to the Lord and lived her faith through compassion, generosity, and unconditional love. She found happiness in spending time outdoors, caring for her plants, visiting with family and friends, and creating a home where everyone felt welcome.

Above all else, Laura's greatest joy in life was her family. Her grandchildren were the center of her world, and she loved each of them deeply. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with them, celebrate their accomplishments, or spoil them with love.

Laura was known as an exceptional cook who expressed her love through food. No one ever left her home hungry. Family gatherings were her favorite, especially during the holidays. She cherished decorating for every season and carefully planning meals that brought loved ones together around the table.

Laura was a strong, courageous, and selfless woman whose love knew no bounds. Her kindness touched countless lives, and her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in all who knew her.

Laura is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Rachel Cordova, and her cherished son, Dawnte Jones. Though she carried the loss of her loved ones throughout her life, her family finds comfort in knowing they have been reunited in the presence of the Lord.

Laura is survived by her loving father, Martin Cordova; her lifelong partner, Adam Torres; her daughter Monica Youngblood Durant and lifelong partner Harrison Dysart, Stepson Bryan Coppenger and wife Lacie Coppenger, daughter Tijana Coppenger Breaux and husband Ronnie Breaux, daughter Brook Cordova, and daughter Morgan Parrilla and husband Manuel Parrilla.

She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Ronnie Breaux Jr., Kyrsten Patterson, Dezarae Gray, Brianna Gray, Isaiah Gray, Jeremiah Gray, Ashanti Zeno, Lorenizzo Randle, Lily Randle, Jazzlynn Cordova, Journey Cordova, Jahsiah Parrilla, Zayden Parrilla, Isaiah Parrilla, Xavier Parrilla, Damien Parrilla, Da'Nila Parrilla, Andrew Hinojosa, and Leilani Jones. Great grandchildren Callie Breaux, Ronnie David, Cruz, Millie and Khloe.

Laura is also survived by her many siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who were blessed by her love, kindness, and friendship.

While her family grieves the loss of an extraordinary woman, they find comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Laura's memory will live on through the countless lives she touched, the traditions she created, and the unconditional love she shared so freely.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Fountain of Salvation church from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM.
