LARRY LEE LABAUVE, 70, passed away October 6, 2021, 4:14 P.M. at Jennie Sealy Hospital surrounded by a room full of family and loved ones. Larry was born on January 30, 1951 at 9:41A.M., in Houston, Texas. Son of Josephine Mary LaBauve and Elwood Eugene LaBauve,Jr. Larry grew up south of Houston and went to Sterling High School. After graduating high school, he attended college at Sam Houston State University while being involved in a fraternity, SSI. After a few years of college he decided to become a fireman and began training, but instead received a job offer to work for Amoco refinery where he would ultimately complete his career. While in his 20's, his spare time was spent in a Texas country band, Sweet Texas Band, where he played the drums and guitar. Since Larry was a little boy his favorite hobby was fishing and he would go fishing any chance he had. Larry was the best personal fishing guide and knew where all the best fishing holes were. He passed away doing what he loved, fishing. The last fish he caught was a beautiful redfish in Freeport at Cold Pass. Larry was the most loving man to all and did not know a stranger. He had a heart of gold and kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane circumstances. He was a perfectionist in anything he did. Larry met the love of his life, Jeannie, in 1996. The next year they were married on August 31,1997. They each had daughters from prior marriages, Cori and Talina. Shortly after they married, they welcomed their daughter Bailey into the world. He took pride in his family and friends and loved to spend time with them by hosting gatherings for every event or holiday throughout the years. In 1999, Larry and his wife purchased a ranch in Leakey, Texas where they spent a lot of their time together. Larry and Jeannie were married for 24 years. Larry retired from BP refinery after 30 years and spent his days fishing, going to the ranch, and spending time with family and friends. Larry's barn was his happy place where he would spend hours, it was undoubtedly the cleanest and most organized barn one would ever know. He was a man who could fix and build anything. The last thing he built was a deer feeder to go at spot #5 on the backside of the hill in Leakey. One of his biggest dreams was to own a canal house on the bay, so he could drop the boat in the water and go fishing. That dream came true last year and he spent most of his time fixing the house up to his standards and fishing. If the fish were biting, he was there.

Larry is preceded in death by his father, Elwood Eugene LaBauve and mother, Josephine Mary LaBauve. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; brother and sister-in-law Gene and Mary; Sister and brother-in-law Denise and Richard; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Amy and Vann; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Debra; daughter and boyfriend Cori and Kenny; daughter and son-in-law Talina and Dustin; Daughter and son-in-law Bailey and Travis; four grandchildren; Aiden, Koralie, Duke, and soon to be born Callaway; and many close family members and friends. Larry has lived a wonderful and happy life. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many. The memories he has left are for eternity.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 AM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas, with interment to follow in the Confederate Cemetery.
