Kyle Dennis Smith, 49, of Alvin, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2025. Born on Christmas Day in Longview, Texas, Kyle was an unforgettable gift to his family. Raised in Alvin by his parents, Gary Vance Smith and Lynn Harris Smith, Kyle grew up surrounded by family and friends that he loved dearly.

A graduate of Alvin High School, Kyle lived life with an energy and spirit that was unmatched. He was the life of the party — free-spirited, fearless, and always up for an adventure. If you had to describe Kyle in just one word, it would simply be: fun. He lit up every room he walked into and left a lasting impression wherever he went.

Kyle had an incredible talent for just about everything he tried. Whether it was water skiing barefoot, snowboarding, bowling, golfing, hitting a punching bag or even riding a unicycle — he never did anything halfway. His competitive drive and desire to master his hobbies was only matched by his love for the outdoors, the water, loud music, and driving his motorcycle way too fast.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Ralph and Virginia Harris and Red and Ruth Smith.

Kyle is survived by his devoted parents Lynn and Gary Smith, his brother Lance Smith and sister-in-law Nicci Smith, and his nephews Dalton and Drayton Smith. He is also survived by his three children — Kaylyn Smith-Starr (29), Tripp Smith (17), and Kylie Smith (16) — as well as his son-in-law Brad Starr. Kyle was also a grandfather to Easton and Payton Starr. He was a proud father, and his legacy lives on through the lives of his children and the memories they will carry forward.

Though Kyle's life was tragically cut short, we ask that he be remembered for who he truly was — a joyful, passionate, and upbeat soul who simply wanted everyone around him to have a good time.

A public viewing and visitation with the family will take place Friday, April 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Scott Funeral Home.

Kyle will be deeply missed, but his laughter, energy, and unforgettable presence will forever remain.
