Kenneth Morton Jolly, age 67, passed peacefully from this earth, surrounded by his loved ones on September 30, 2021 after a brief illness.  Ken was born April 2, 1954 in Ft. Worth, Texas to loving parents, Charles Brady Jolly and JoAnn Wooten.  Ken was a long time resident of Alvin.  He attended Alvin High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  Ken worked at Marathon as a Chief Operator  at the Galveston Bay Refinery where he worked tirelessly for 27 years, retiring in May of 2016.

Ken's greatest accomplishments were his faith and his family.  He was a devout man of God.  He was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he met and married his eternal companion Diana Lee Phillips.  Ken and Diana were married on May 4, 1984 in the Jordan River Temple in West Jordan Utah, for time and all eternity.  He truly loved Diana with all his heart and now patiently awaits the day they will be reunited.  Together they lovingly raised three children:  Laura Ann, Jason Phillips and Phillip Brady.  Ken loved his family with all his heart and readily told them every chance he got.  Along with his children, he cherished four grandchildren:  Brooke-Lynn, Azlyn, Liam and Ethan.  They never had a doubt that they were loved by their Papaw.  He was devoted to his family.  Ken was lovingly known as Sweetheart by his wife, Dad and "Old Man" by his children and Papaw by his grandchildren.

While Ken was basically a reserved man who preferred to be at home with his family, he had many friends at church who loved him as well.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, sister Teresa Tory, son James Sundance, niece Jessica Dugy and Father-In-Law Bobby Wayne Phillips.  He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diana, of Alvin; children Laura & husband Eric Nitschmann, of Houston; Jason Jolly of Alvin; Phillip of Alvin along with grandchildren Brooke-Lynn, Azlyn, Liam and Ethan.  He is also survived by sister-in-law Sandy Schwausch, sister-in-law Cheryl Carling & husband Bruce;  brother-in-law Bobby Phillips & wife Connie; brother-in-law Steven Phillips & wife Linda; sister Sheila Joachim & husband Kenneth and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 9:30AM - 11:00AM, Wednesday October 6, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 505 Deseret Drive, Friendswood, Texas with funeral services beginning at 11:00AM.  Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 7th at the Houston National Cemetery at 9:45AM (10410 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas)
