It is with great sadness that the family of Kelly O. Garrison announces her passing. Kelly completed her journey and took her final breath on this earth Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family while in the care of the staff at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. She now rests in the loving and comforting arms of Jesus.

The sun rose and the world welcomed Kelly in Lorraine, NY to her late parents Burt and Mary E. LaBrie Towles on March 18, 1932, a day this world forever became a little brighter. As a child, Kelly grew up in both Watertown and Ellisburg, NY. When she was a young adult, Kelly lived in Highlands and Long Branch, NJ, Pittsburgh (Dormont), PA and Columbia, SC. She became a transplant Texan when she moved to Alvin, TX in May 1971, where she resided for the last 51 years.

Kelly was a devout Christian who was a member of Chocolate Bayou Baptist Church for many years. She had a fondness for butterscotch and cinnamon disc hard candies and loved eating seafood, especially cocktail shrimp. Kelly delighted in being outdoors listening to the beautiful songs of many birds, her favorite being those of the red cardinals. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, pruning her rose bushes and planting her many fruit trees.

Kelly was preceded in death by her older sisters, Eleanor Yerdon and Mary E. Beckstead; her two sons, James (Jimmy) Kevin Olson and Henry (Buddy) W. Olson, III; her infant grandson, Roy Lee Nelson; her granddaughter, Donnette Jean Alana, and two great-grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving children: Nancy (Olson) Nelson, Donna (Olson) Alana, Pattie (Olson) Hubbard (George), Roy Raymond Garrison, Jr. (Brenda) and Kelly Jo (Garrison) Sanders (Corey Ervin). Kelly will also be fondly remembered by her surviving 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, as well as several bonus great-grandchildren.

Kelly's viewing and visitation will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Scott Funeral Home 1421 E. Hwy 6 Alvin, TX 77511, followed by her graveside service which will be held at the Confederate Cemetery 998 Dickinson Road Alvin, TX 77511 at 11:30 a.m.
