Judy Karen Courtright, age 77 of Alvin, Texas passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023 at her home. Judy was born October 26, 1945 in Houston, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Alvin. She took great pride in taking care of her family and will dearly be missed by all that knew her. She enjoyed playing drums in her and her husband's band The Mavericks" for years before her son took over, and being a long-time member, and influence, in the local music scene for many years.  Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Lois Gambrell, sisters Vicki Hunt and Linda Gambrell.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, Roy Courtright; daughter, Kelli Kerr and husband Roger; son, Mark Courtright and wife Valeri; sister, Jerri Brawley; brother, Jeff Gambrell and wife Marta; grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Megan, Luke, Nick, Erika, Amanda, Christina and Samantha; 23 great grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 6, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home with interment to follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
