John Edward Shaw, age 68 of League City, Texas passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Harbor Hospice Facility in Houston, Texas. John was born January 16, 1954 in Hornell, New York and was a resident of League City since 1982. He graduated from Alfred Almond Central School in 1972 and owned and operated his own automotive repair shop in League City and Dickinson, Texas. John is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Ruth Shaw.

John is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lisa Shaw; sons, Jonathan Shaw and Justin Shaw; granddaughter, Gracie Shaw; sisters, Jill Wheatley and husband Jeremy, Judy Hamelmann and husband Marc; half brother, Dan Harrison and family, Nephews David Hamelmann and wife Danielle, Dustin Hamelmann and wife Kristi, great nieces Elizabeth, Jocelyn and Stella, great Nephews Dilynn and Evin.

John loved drag racing in Dickinson, dirt track racing at  Battleground Speedway and  then go kart  racing at Gulf Coast Speedway in Alvin with his sons .

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Westside Church of Christ in Alvin, Texas.
