John Joseph Melchor, age 54 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026. John was born July 12, 1971, in Galveston, Texas. John is preceded in death by his father Robert Melchor, and brother Patrick Melchor, Sr.

John Melchor was surrounded by love and the memories of a life well lived. John treasured time spent with his family and found joy in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed listening to music, watching old classic movies, barbequing, and cheering on his favorite teams—the Houston Texans and the Houston Astros.

John is survived by his loving mother, Rosa Melchor; his sister, Marie Melchor; and his sister-in-law, Sarah Melchor. He also leaves behind his niece, Leah Heath, and her husband Michael; nephews Robert Esparza, Joseph Esparza, Patrick Melchor Jr. and his wife Amy, Eric Melchor and his wife Danielle, and Steven Melchor and his wife Ashley. John is also lovingly remembered by his many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom brought him great pride and happiness.

John will be remembered for his love of family, his warm presence, and the many moments of laughter and togetherness he shared with those who knew him best. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family forever.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, with a service beginning at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Scott Funeral Home Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Interment to be held at Oak Park Cemetery following the services.
