John Hogan Hill Jr., age 66 of Algoa, Texas passed away peacefully Saturday, August 13, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.  John was born August 31, 1955 in Galveston, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Algoa. John Hill was a truck driver; he was driving a truck before he had his license. He started driving with the Adairs in Algoa Texas and  continued to drive for 53 years. He also worked for Warner Brothers.  He received 2 Million-mile certificates along with over 20 safe driving Awards!  He received a safe driving award for 6 consecutive years.  John made time to be more than just a truck driver and a provider for his family. He had time to be a father and grandfather. He was a proud father and loyal friend. John never met a stranger and once he called you friend, you had a friend for life. Though John has returned to our Heavenly Father he will live on through his legacies, his beloved children and through the memories of his dear friends.  John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Hill Sr.; son, Jermi Hill; brother Ronald Hill.

John is survived by his son, John Hill III; daughter, Rachel Marshall and husband Robert; brother, Raymond Hill; sisters, Christy Alexander, Linda Byrd and husband Glenn; daughter in law, Tonya Hill; grandchildren, Kaitlin Meyers, Cash Rex, Dalton Hill, Cheyenne Hill, Maddison Fleming, Jessica Hill, Mason Hill and Alyssa Marshall; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 9:00 AM at Scott Funeral Home with interment to follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
