Jim Trevino "Jimmy" Cortinas, age 81 of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family. Jimmy was born on May 5, 1942 in Robstown, Texas and grew up in Victoria, Texas. He moved to Santa Fe in 1975 where he remained until his death. Jimmy worked at multiple sites in the Houston and Texas City areas, retiring from the City of Texas City after 12 years.

Jimmy had a strong work ethic, and his main desire was to provide for his family to help them achieve success. He cherished his family and friends, and never met a stranger.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Eloisa and Jim Cortinas, and sister, Rosie Villarreal. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Cortinas; daughter Marisa Bacon and husband Bo; son Orlando Cortinas and wife Andrea; grandchildren Cameron Faulk and Noah, Nicholas and Alexandra Cortinas; brothers Pete Cortinas, Rudy Cortinas and wife Joyce, and sister Dora Gonzales.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 5:00 PM. Thus, giving everyone a chance to be home for the remainder of the Super Bowl, as Jimmy would have wanted. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
