James Day McNeil, age 83 of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his home.  Jim was born March 26, 1941 in Ashland, Kentucky and had been a resident of Alvin since 1969. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves and worked professionally as an accountant. Jim was a founding member and adviser in the Believers Fellowship Church of Alvin and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Jonesy McNeil; parents, Watson and Emma McNeil.

Jim is survived by his wife of 3 years, Marian McNeil; son, James R. McNeil and wife Cindy; daughter, Terri McNeil Anderson and husband Scott; sister, Jackie McNeil Notgrass and husband Dale; grandchildren, James Michael McNeil and wife Cassy, Lon Austin McNeil, Rachel Anderson Dutton and husband Colton; great grandchildren, Laney McNeil, James Logan McNeil and Caleb Ross Dutton; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Thursday, June 20, 2024 with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM at Scott Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, June 21, 2024 at Confederate Cemetery.
