Jennie Marie Korth, age 85 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family. Jennie was born on October 28, 1939 in Galveston, Texas and was a resident of Alvin, Texas for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Dominic Marullo and stepfather, Ken Van Nostrand.

Jennie is survived by her husband, Edwin Korth, daughter, Andrea Walters and husband Kevin, son, Eric Korth and wife Joy, brothers, Ken Van Nostrand, Marvin Van Nostrand and wife Lee, 3 granddaughters, Ellie Korth, Emily Walters, Sarah Walters, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Jennie was devoted to volunteer service, actively contributing to several organizations, including the Shriner Burn Center and the Salvation Army in Galveston where she found great joy in participating in the annual fundraiser. Jennie also dedicated several years to the Alvin Food Pantry, where she helped distribute groceries to families in need.

Passionate about travel, Jennie visited England, France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and Sicily during her sixty-three-year marriage. She also cherished road trips across the United States and Canada, especially memorable were the "girls only" excursions to New England to admire the vibrant fall foliage.

Family was central to Jennie's life. She treasured gatherings that included uncles, aunts, and cousins, with annual family reunions in Wimberley, Texas. Jennie delighted in hosting backyard gatherings, particularly Easter Sunday egg hunts and autumn evenings toasting marshmallows around an open fire pit. Thanksgiving was a favorite time for the family to come together and make fresh ravioli and pasta. La famiglia!

A longtime member of Galveston's Krewe of Gambrinus, Jennie eagerly anticipated an evening of dancing at the annual Coronation Ball and loved throwing beads from the float during the Mardi Gras parade.

In her later years, Jennie required assistance with daily activities. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Christina, Chelle, and Kim. A devoted team of caregivers who supported her with compassion and dedication.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin, Texas.
