JEANETTE BENEFIELD

January 21, 1939 – September 19, 2024

Jeanette Benefield, 85, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, peacefully at UTMB Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Chapel Hill, Tennessee on January 21, 1939, to Louise and Luther Collins. Jeanette was a resident of Alvin, Texas for over 50 years. She proudly spent her career at Alvin ISD where she later retired. She loved family, friends, line dancing and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 58 years James Mac Benefield; daughter Pamela Gautney and her children Mitchell Sweeney, Brandon Gautney and wife Jemma, great-granddaughter Peyton Gautney; son James Alan Benefield and wife Deborah and their children Ella and James Ethan; her brothers, Jackie Collins, Johnny Collins and wife Patricia.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 10:00 am. The service will take place at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas. The address is 998 Dickinson Rd, Alvin, Texas 77511.
