Jay Blair Gates, age 62 of Rosharon, Texas passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Rosharon. Jay was born June 3, 1959 in Houston, Texas and was a resident of Rosharon since 1998.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and worked as a Senior Sales Engineer for Crown Castle Communications.  Jay had many long lasting friendships with personal friends as well as professional friends.  He never hesitated to help in anyway when someone was in need. Jay had a passion for the outdoors; he loved fishing, hunting, and planting food plots for the deer.  Often said of him by his friends that there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or redesign.

Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Martha Gates; and is survived by his loving wife, Debra Gates; sisters, Jan Nygrn and husband Stan, Jayne Gates and Ginger French; brothers, David Gates and Robert Gates; along with numerous extended family and friends.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation in Jay's name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Texas Forestry Association.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas.
