Javier "Javi" Martinez, age 27 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 4th, 2026. Javier was born February 15th, 1998 in Laredo, Texas. He was a man of many trades and worked in the trucking business, pipeline and construction. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing soccer and spending time with his friends and family. He loved barbecuing for his family and was most proud of being a father to his 2 beautiful children. He was always quick to offer a helping hand to those around him, and never failed to have a joke up his sleeve. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Javier is survived by his daughter Belamie Rose Martinez; son Ezekiel Jay Martinez; parents Lidia Martinez and Christian Rico; sister Ariana M. Plata; brothers Ezequiel Hernandez, Arturo Plata and Christian F. Rico.

Visitation service will be held Sunday, January 11th, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Monday, January 12th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Scott Funeral Home. Interment services to follow at Confederate Cemetery.

Javier "Javi" Martinez, de 27 años, residente de Alvin, Texas, falleció el domingo 4 de enero de 2026. Javier nació el 15 de febrero de 1998 en Laredo, Texas. Era un hombre polifacético y trabajó en el transporte de carga, la industria petrolera y la construcción. Le gustaba pescar, la cazeria, jugar fútbol y pasar tiempo con sus amigos y familiares. Disfrutaba haciendo carnes asadas para su familia y su mayor orgullo era ser padre de sus dos hermosos hijos, Ezekiel y Belamie. Siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar a quienes lo rodeaban y nunca le faltaba hacer una broma. Será profundamente extrañado por todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

A Javier le sobreviven su hija Belamie Rose Martinez; su hijo Ezekiel Jay Martinez; sus padres Lidia Martinez y Christian Rico; su hermana Ariana M. Plata; y sus hermanos Ezequiel Hernandez, Arturo Plata y Christian F. Rico.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el domingo 11 de enero de 2026 en la Funeraria Scott de 5:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. El funeral se realizará el lunes 12 de enero de 2026 a las 10:00 a. m. en la Funeraria Scott. El sepelio se llevará a cabo posteriormente en el Cementerio Confederate.
